Conqueror / Teisco / Matsumoku MIJ Electric Guitar (1960s, Sunburst)

Conqueror / Teisco / Matsumoku MIJ Electric Guitar (1960s, Sunburst)

1 in stock

For sale here is a lovely vintage Conqueror / Teisco offset guitar with two vintage single coil style pickups. It was made by Matsumoku in Japan in the late 60s. I suspect this was made with the headstock name Teisco, but I am finding a hard time finding another online. This one is in astounding collector’s shape.

This guitar plays great. Super low action. The bridge and truss are fully adjustable and still have play. The guitar sounds amazing. Crisp and shimmery when clean, fat and full when distorted or fuzzed up. Mellowed out in the neck, but punchier in the bridge. The singles sound more like P-90s than straight singles, somewhere in between.

The mahogany/rosewood neck is beautiful and feels great in your hands. The body is Mahogany as well, and has a wonderful darker tonal profile. The pickguard is real vintage celluloid tortoise shell. The finish is even still shiny. The guitar just oozes character!

The tremolo works, but I am running low on Bigsby bars due to back orders. If you are to order one yourself, the tremolo will function as it should. A knock off Bigsby arm should fit.

Can’t beat this for a vintage sound and look at the price! As always, I cleaned it up, polished the finish, oiled the board, flushed the electronics, changed the strings and set the action as low as I could. This guitar comes with no case or gig bag, but I pack my guitars tight and ship with full insurance!

Perfect for all your surf, garage, punk, indie or general rock n roll needs!

Got questions? Shoot me a message, I love nerding out with other gearheads!
