For sale here is a partscaster I built using parts I have acquired in my travels. This one is part of a series I am calling “Rattlecan Relics!” I am super proud of this one, it may be my best relic to date!

Here is what I know about it:

The body is Mahogany (I think) and was pulled from some unknown MIJ or MIK Double Cut Jr. clone. It is super thin, and thus fairly light.

The Humbucker is from an MIJ “LP” Lawsuit copy, so it has a great FAT 1970s PAF tone. Really the closest you can get to a real vintage “Big G” PAF without sawing off an arm and/or leg.

The electronics (pots, wiring) are original to the pickup, vintage MIJ pots, but I upgraded cap to a modern Orange Drop.

The pickguard was original to the body. So is the strat style tremolo. The tremolo functions great, it is super smooth and fluid. I am including a black tremolo bar.

The body was refinished and reliced by yours truly. I used standard rattlecan paint, but I treated it as you would if you were spraying Nitro: level sanding between each coat, and clear coating the last coat. This color is called “Jungle Green.”

The neck is a 1 pc maple Tele neck, made by Mitey Mite, I believe. I gave it what I would consider to be my best neck relic yet! It feels great and worn in, but not beat to hell. The neck is Fender licensed with the Fender headstock. The tuners are from a modern Fender MIJ Jaguar, so they are TOP quality tuners!

The action is great, and this is really a great playing guitar. Would be super great for pop-punk, garage rock, skate punk, just plain punk and all your rock n’ roll needs.

As always, I cleaned it up, polished the finish, oiled the board, flushed the electronics, changed the strings and set the action as low as I could. This guitar is proudly strung with Stringjoy Custom Guitar Strings, made right here in Nashville, TN.

This guitar has no case or gig bag, but I pack my guitars tight and insure every package. I named it “Gordon Gecko”” because….well…I love puns and 80s movies.

Get a completely custom, one-of-a-kind axe without the one-of-a-kind price tag.
