Description
For sale here is a vintage USA made Alamo Fiesta made in Texas, USA in the 1950s or 1960s.
I have had this one on my bucket list for a good long while. These are short (but full scale – 25″ scale), light-weight guitars with full beefy 60s necks, single pickup, volume/tone controls, switchcraft jack, uncovered Acra-Tune bridge/tailpiece assembly. They are so cool looking and easy to haul around, they are small bodied and only weigh about 4-5 lbs!
Body is hollow core with a solid block running through the middle, makes for a nice bright but full and resonant sound. Great for “dirty blues” style playing with a little overdrive – think Jon Spencer/White Stripes/etc. This was the weapon of choice for a lot of bands in the late 1960s Texas and Oklahoma “Pebbles” and “Nuggets” laden garage rock scenes, and I am so glad I finally got to play one and see it up close!
Tuners are in good working order, this guitar shows mild to-be-expected snicks and bruises but is in good overall shape with no major dents/chips/etc. Frets are excellent, fretboard is very clean with no grooving. Body shows some marks at the edges; but no major dents/chips or deep scratches.
As always, I cleaned it up, polished the finish, oiled the board, flushed the electronics, changed the strings and set the action as low as I could. This guitar is proudly strung with Stringjoy Custom Guitar Strings, made right here in Nashville, TN. This guitar has no case or gig bag, but I pack my guitars up tight and insure every package for the full sale amount.
