“I guess charisma and eyeliner go a long way.”
For sale here is a Precision Bass partscaster collaboration with Connecticut artist, Michael Bond. Michael is incredibly talented, and I am very lucky to have met him. He purchased an electrified parlor guitar from me, and we got to talking about collaborating, and this is the fourth or fifth project we have done together. All of them have been INCREDIBLE.
Michael has been showing his art since 1996, and has been featured everywhere from California to Connecticut. He specializes in “Mindscape” art, and you can see more of his work, and read his very impressive resume at artistmichaelbond.com. Needless to say, I am not only selling this guitar as a fully playable electric bass, but as a work of functional art that would be just as suited for the art gallery wall as it would be for the stage. The artwork is protected by acrylic clear coat, so this guitar can be played without worry.
The body is Alder and was pulled from a 1990s Fender MIJ P-Bass. The neck is a really nice 1980s MIK Squier P-bass neck that is wonderfully worn in. The pickup is from a 1989 MIJ P-Bass Lyte. It was originally an active pickup, but honestly sounds fantastic as a passive pup. Huge and full. The components are vintage alpha pots and a modern orange drop capacitor. The bridge is an AllParts Medium Density Bridge. The action is low and comfortable, and this is really a great playing bass.
As always, I cleaned it up, polished the finish, flushed the electronics, changed the strings and set the action as low as I could. This bass is proudly strung with Stringjoy Custom Guitar Strings, made right here in Nashville, TN.
This bass comes with a worn but rugged travel padded gig bag, and I ship all my packages with full insurance! You really can’t get better than this without sawing your arms off for the Fender Japanese or American. I am very proud of the way this one turned out. Get a unique, custom bass without the unique, custom price tag! 😉
Got questions? Shoot me a message, I love nerding out with other gearheads!
