Teisco Del Rey ET-440 Spectrum MIJ Offset Electric Guitar (1960s, Electric Blue)

1 in stock

For sale here is a lovely vintage Teisco ET-440 Spectrum, one of their step up professional models. It was made by Matsumoku in Japan in the late 60s. This one is in great shape, other than some mild dings and scratches and one small chip in the side, it looks almost brand new.  (See pics for full details)

I replaced the mute foam, so the mute works and makes for some neat jazzy tones. The pickups each have and on / off switch and then there is a “Rhythm / Solo” tone circuit.

This guitar plays great; really low action given the age of the guitar. The bridge and truss are fully adjustable and still have play. The guitar sounds amazing — lots of room to make a lot of tones out of this one, this is one versatile guitar. These pickups are quite desirable these days. You can’t find them on Reverb for less than $125-$150 a piece.

The mahogany neck is beautiful. The tremolo is wonderfully responsive, making this a great guitar for surf and garage. This guitar plays as well now as it did the day it came off the department store floor.

This guitar literally makes my jaw drop, I can’t believe I found one of these in this good of condition. As always, I cleaned it up, polished the finish, oiled the board, flushed the electronics, changed the strings and set the action as low and comfortable. This guitar comes with the original vintage chipboard case, and

I pack my stuff tight and insure every package for the full purchase amount.
